Find Startups Raising Money on Equity Crowdfunding Portals by City and State

Investors and businesses looking to identify investment activity within their city or state can save time using the following strategy. It is possible to go through each individual platform to identify companies that have been succesful in raising money online within a certain geography, but at Fundwisdom we offer a process to save you time searching across the entire market. Below are 2 examples of how to do this.

Massachusetts

We as a team at Fund Wisdom are located in Boston and in the process of releasing our 2014 yearly report reached out to local authors to hopefully get some coverage. Some of these authors wanted to know equity crowdfunding specific to MA.

In 2014 Massachusetts had 15 companies receive funding of $12.7 million. This puts MA in 6th for the year when you include international offerings, or 5th ignoring that group.

Once you login you can access the live data and analytic data.

In 2013 2 companies were funded bumping the total to 17 and $24.6 million in funding, most of which came from Terrafugia. We have 28 offerings in our database in total for the state of MA. Even though the SEC pushed Title III to late 2015, the MA state government has joined other statesto open up investing opportunities to the non-accredited investors within the state.

Texas

Robert Hoskins, Director of Media Relations/Crowdfunding PR Campaigns of Front Page Public Relations, in Austin, reached out for information on equity crowdfunding in Texas. Below is the process we went through to help provide this report. His follow up comment was that, "Texas Equity Crowdfunding might change things in a big way for Texas." We couldn't agree with him more on the intrastate laws positively affecting each state that has passed the law to democratize investment at FundWisdom. It has been amazing to get to know amazing people like Robert and learn about how these legal changes are impacting so many people's lives.

Austin Texas saw 5 deals close with $2.7 mil in funding for 2014.

Funded Companies in Texas

Texas had 6 deals and ranked 10th in 2014, from the state break out from the MA section above.

Right now it does not show multiple platforms in this view. So an example like Plum listed on both AngelList and SeedInvest. AngelList offered the amount funded online but SeedInvest does not.
