Investing Portal Details
As of January 2025 trucrowd.com states, "For investors seeking information about their existing investments, please contact the companies you invested in directly. As an intermediary platform, TruCrowd maintained a role of connecting investors with opportunities, while the individual companies maintain all investor records and are responsible for ongoing investor relations."
Trucrowd was an Equity crowdfunding portal operating under Regulation Crowdfunding (Title III of JOBS ACT) and connects startups and emerging businesses with non-accredited and accredited investors. They built virtual data rooms for both security and intellectual property protection.
Vincent Petrescu - CEO and Sean Fuellhart POA - COO running TruCrowd out of Chicago.
Trucrowd operates Fundanna, a marijuana focused portal to which they have been implicated in litigation by the SEC. The SEC charges that 420 Real estate defrauded investors. Petrescu allegedly failed to address red flags like founder, Robert Shumake's criminal history and involvement in the crowdfunding offerings, and otherwise failed to reduce the risk of fraud to investors. In December 2021, TruCrowd agreed to pay $226,000 in penalties. Petrescu agreed to pay a $9,700 fine and was suspended from appearing or practicing before the commission as an accountant. Neither he nor TruCrowd admitted or denied the SEC’s allegations.
